LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan Court of Appeals has denied a hearing on an appeal filed by Kalamazoo Mass Murder suspect Jason Dalton, saying they were not persuaded it was anything they needed to review.
Dalton’s attorney says two interviews he gave to police after his arrest should be tossed out because Dalton was not given a proper Miranda warning.
A local judge has agreed to suppress most of one of the interviews, but not a second one conducted by a State Police Detective.
Dalton’s attorney has about two months to appeal the appellate court’s decision to the State Supreme Court, or go to trial.
