KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The Todd Maneke murder trial should go to the jury today.
Prosecutors say Maneke was a crack addict who discovered the body of neighbor Alfred Minka just over four years ago and called it into police.
A recording of that 911 call was the last thing the jury heard before testimony concluded Tuesday.
Jurors have heard how the 44-year-old Maneke nearly bankrupted himself and his wife with a drug habit and how he borrowed money from the victim, and borrowed his car on the night of the murder to buy drugs.
But there is little forensic evidence linking Maneke or anyone else with the beating death.
Closing arguments and final instructions will come today, and then it will be left to the jury to decide.
