HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – The Hillsdale County Courthouse had to be locked down for a couple of hours on Wednesday after a man threatened to hurt himself and District Court officials.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office says the threats were made while the man, who was said to be in his 40s, was at a counseling service in Coldwater.
The man was later arrested at his mothers home in Hillsdale County’s Allen Township.
Officials with the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s were unavailable Wednesday, but the Hillsdale Daily News said the suspect was scheduled to appear in Hillsdale County District Court Thursday afternoon for a show-cause hearing for failing to pay fines in previous convictions of operating while intoxicated and obscene conduct.
The suspect was taken to the Hillsdale County Jail and his bond has been revoked.
