PARCHMENT (WKZO-AM/FM) — Boy Scout Troop 218 apparently isn’t the first to have all their gear stolen.
It’s happened in communities all over Michigan, including Lansing, Warren, and even Troop 265 in Galesburg had all their camping gear stolen.
Thieves back up to their trailers, hook them up and drive them away. The latest troop had their trailer parked at the Parchment United Methodist Church. At some time over the weekend, it disappeared.
The white Haulmark single-axle trailer contained tents, stoves and other gear worth over $10,000. They say, if they can’t find it or replace it, their planned camping trip next month will have to be scrubbed.
They have set up a GoFundMe page to try and replace some of the equipment.
