ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspected hit and run driver who fled one accident scene, has been hospitalized in Kalamazoo after he was involved in a second crash along U.S. 131 Friday night.
The first calls came into 9-1-1 Dispatch just after 8:00 that a man in a blue Dodge Durango had been involved in a crash on the highway near 116th Avenue in Martin Township and left the scene.
A short time later they got the call about the same vehicle wedged beneath the rear of a tractor trailer with the driver pinned inside.
Witnesses say they had seen the pick-up driven erratically before both of the crashes.
The man reportedly was seriously injured in that second crash.
The incidents closed the highway for some time while the two crashes were investigated.
