KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — State Rep. Jon Hoadley, D-Kalamazoo, headlined a town hall meeting Tuesday night sponsored by the Michigan League of Conservation Voters.
The subject was the state’s energy policy and how to promote lower costs without sacrificing environmental gains.
Hoadley said he has introduced a bill that would require the state produce half of its energy with renewable resources by the year 2035.
He said he doesn’t see much chance of the legislature voting to shut down Enbridge Line 5, which runs under the Straits of Mackinac.
