UNDATED (WKZO-AM/FM) — The news from Texas just keeps getting worse.
As the rains continue to fall, more towns are evacuating everyone they can and the death toll has risen to eight.
West Michigan is mobilizing to help.
KL Outdoor of Muskegon says they have been contracted by Walmart to send 2,000 kayaks to Texas for relief efforts.
Some will be donated, some will be sold.
Susan Gray with the House of the Lord’s Grace in Holland is organizing a flotilla of boaters to take their private craft south to help rescue people from flooded areas. She recently lived in Houston.
Great Lakes Coast Guard Operations have dispatched two helicopters and 40 seaman trained in rescue operations and support to Texas.
