KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — There has been a dramatic drop in the use of the Arcadia Creek Festival Site this year and downtown Kalamazoo officials are concerned.
Some festivals have just packed it in, others have moved to other venues leaving the site disserted most of the summer.
Festival organizers blame the cost and fees, while others blame a new noise ordinance that restricts how late events can go on festival nights.
Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated is putting together a task force to look for solutions. The group will include downtown business representatives, festival organizers and residents, with a goal of making the site more user friendly in time for next year’s festival season.
