KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It was three months ago today that 18-year-old Alyssa Elsman of Portage was killed and two dozen others, including her sister Ava were injured when they were struck by a driver who got on the side walk on Times Square in New York and started hitting people.
A memorial service is planned.
A local man, Richard Rojas had been smoking a powerful hallucinogen just before taking his car into Manhattan and allegedly committing the terrifying crime.
Today’s memorial will take place from 2 to 5 pm Sunday at the Fetzer Center on the WMU Campus.
