KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Citizen tips and a new surveillance system set up at Interfaith Homes to address the high rate of crime and gun violence in the complex have resulted in a drug raid and an arrest.
K-VET officers and the Community Policing Unit joined forces yesterday to execute a search warrant at a townhouse inside the complex and seized heroin and evidence of drug dealing.
A 27-year-old was arrested for being a parole absconder and could face additional charges later.
They are also seeking warrants to charge a 44-year-old man with possession with intent to deliver heroin and maintaining a drug house.
