BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — Police say a 36-year-old woman found naked in a Battle Creek fire house last month may have been seeking safety after a domestic assault.
The Battle Creek Police Department says she was under the influence of alcohol, methamphetamine and marijuana when she went through a faulty basement door at the fire station on Capital Avenue Southwest during the early morning hours of July 19.
She told investigators she was being chased by a man at the time, but wouldn’t elaborate.
The crew inside was sleeping. When they woke up, she was found sleeping on top of a fire engine nude. Her clothes were found in a tool box.
She vanished after she was taken to a hospital, but police have been keeping in contact since.
Officers are not considering charges against the woman.
