KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man was killed when a tire on a front-end loader he was filling exploded like an overfilled balloon.
The name of the 45-year-old victim, who was a new hire at Holland Pallet Repair, has not been released.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Palmer Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when several people in the area heard the explosion.
PSOs found the maintenance worker with severe traumatic injuries. They began first aid but it soon became clear that the victim could not be revived.
It remains under investigation.
