UPDATE: Kalamazoo Public Safety confirmed Monday morning a person of interest is in custody on unrelated charges.

KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Detectives with Kalamazoo Public Safety are asking for help finding a person of interest in a murder near Western Michigan University’s east campus.
A 21-year-old man was reportedly shot around 2 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Oakland Drive. The shooting followed an altercation between the gunman and the victim at a large party. The victim was found bleeding in the street. He is not believed to be a WMU student.
He was wounded in the torso and rushed to Bronson Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The gunman reportedly fled on foot and remains at large. Pictures of a person of interest, which are above, have been released.
