BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — An early Saturday morning fire in Battle Creek will be investigated.
Fire Crews were dispatched to a home at 52 Willow Street just after 2 am. They found the rear of a two story duplex engulfed in heavy flames and smoke.
They say the fire quickly spread to the second floor and attic. Crews launched an interior attack which quickly doused the fire.
One firefighter was overcome by the heat and the muggy conditions and had to be treated on the scene for heat exhaustion but was not hospitalized.
