KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Medical marijuana is a hot topic everywhere it comes up. The city of Kalamazoo plans two public forums on the issue next week.
It gets even hotter when the potential for recreational marijuana is considered.
The city will be developing ordinances to zone, regulate and license a number of marijuana related businesses, including dispensaries, and City Attorney Clyde Robinson wants input. He said his office plans to have maps of potential zoning for dispensaries, which will have to be limited to commercial areas away from schools and churches.
The first forum be held next Wednesday at 6 p.m. and next Thursday at 2 p.m. Both will be held at city hall.
