KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Township may soon join the city of Kalamazoo and municipalities all over the country that have pledged to support the Paris Climate Accords, even if the Trump administration pulls the U.S. out of the agreement.
On Monday, several citizens stood up to endorse the idea, saying climate change is a local issue too because everyone there will be impacted. Township Clerk Mark Miller said he is already working on a draft of a climate action plan for the township.
Trustee Steve Leuty said he was encouraged to see that citizens are willing to reach out and do what they can to try to fight climate change.
