BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man is now facing a dozen charges and possible life in prison after a weekend high-speed chase that ended in a shootout with police officers.
Trent Davis, 47, had been held on six counts after police say he was involved in a home invasion that involved firearms on J Drive North. When officers spotted him escaping from that event in Battle Creek, he refused to pull over.
They pursued him to Van Buren Street and Elm where he exchanged fire with pursuing officers, and was shot twice early Saturday morning.
He is charged with attempted murder, destruction of police property, home invasion fleeing and eluding and multiple gun counts.
Davis is being held on $500,000 bond.
