LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Tests results are in on tests for Asian Carp DNA in rivers in South West Michigan.
It follows the surprise discovery of a fish beyond the barriers in Calumet Harbor a few weeks ago.
The DNR says the latest samples taken from the Grand , St. Joseph and Kalamazoo Rivers in early May did not show any presence of genetic material from Asian carp.
280 samples were taken and tested.
Two more testing and monitoring events are scheduled for this summer with results coming out later in July and in August.
