KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Tuition will go up 3.2% this fall at Western Michigan University this fall.
That will increase the cost for a full time freshman or sophomore to just over eleven thousand dollars, a $344 increase over last year. It will be even more for upper classmen and grad students who pay more to begin with.
The increases are under the cap set by the State of Michigan so they will remain eligible for a 1.4% increase in state funding.
They also approved their $388-million budget for the next school year at yesterday’s session.
rustees also accepted a $16 increase in the student organization fee approved by Students in March.
At their meeting, WMU Trustees also got to hear from protestors who oppose the University’s plan to develop Colony Orchard Farm as an extension of the University’s BTR development.
