BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — Investigators in Battle Creek say a potentially dangerous fire on Rittenhouse Avenue that threatened six lives over the weekend may have been intentionally set.
They are suspicious because the fire appeared to begin on the porch and spread to the interior of the home, which had no smoke detectors.
A man and five children escaped through bedroom windows.
Police have reports of two men throwing something on the porch just before the fire began.
