KNOXVILLE, TENN. (WKZO-AM/FM) — A couple of teenagers from Van Buren County have been shot to death in Knoxville, Tenn., over a drug deal that may have been a rip-off.
The bodies of Sergio Rivera and Jaloen Morris of Decatur, both 18, were found in their car, dead from multiple gunshot wounds Thursday.
A third teenager, a 16-year-old from Knoxville, was wounded but should survive.
Soon after, 17-year-old Deon Norbert was taken into custody and an arrest warrant was issued for 15-year-old Rico Cook, who was on the run until he surrendered to police Sunday morning.
The Knoxville teenagers are charged with two counts of first degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated robbery. That suggests that investigators believe they may have intended to rob the Michigan teens all along.
