KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A restaurant employee making his daily delivery to the night depository was intercepted by a pair of armed robbers early Saturday morning on Kalamazoo’s east side and forced to surrender the nightly cash deposit.
It happened in the 5600 block of Gull Road in Comstock right around 3:25 a.m. One of the men approached the victim with a gun while the second man remained at a distance.
They fled the area headed north, investigators said. They may have had a getaway car parked somewhere in the area because a police dog track was unsuccessful.
The robber was described as a six-foot tall male with shoulder-length dreadlocks, wearing orange hunting gloves and carrying a black semi-automatic handgun.
The second suspect was a younger and shorter black male wearing a white shirt and tan pants.
