KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Kalamazoo city commissioners will receive a draft of their Imagine 2025 strategic plan Monday night
It has been years in the making and includes suggestions from thousands of residents. It is designed to be a guide for the community for the next few years as the commission sets budget priorities and decides how to spend money from the Foundation for Excellence.
In a nutshell, the goals are to create a city that is prosperous for everyone, safe, crisscrossed with trails, green and beautiful, with neighborhoods that provide for the needs of adults and children alike, diverse, open for business and well governed.
A survey of citizens included in the document suggests that improving security, the economy and the environment were the most important goals by far.
Commissioners will receive a presentation on the draft report Monday night.
