GALESBURG (WKZO AM/FM) — There will be no charges filed, despite the fact that a Galesburg man died as the result of a fight at a party in February.
Police say alcohol was a factor, and so was aggressive behavior at the gathering at CountryView Apartments.
Police Chief Jeff Heppler says it was Ryan Cole who was exhibiting the aggressive behavior and so he was being held down, to prevent him from hurting anyone or himself when he apparent died from “positional asphyxiation”.
The 22-year-old was revived by CPR but died later at the hospital.
There was no intention to harm him, in fact the opposite was true so there won’t be charges.
