KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation says bridge work is underway on Interstate 94 through the Kalamazoo area.
MDOT spokesperson Nick Schirripa said drivers can expect single-lane closures from 12th Street to Lovers Lane through the end of August.
“It’s bridge-sealing, crack-sealing, joint re-sealing and deck-patching,” Schirripa said. “Just single-lane closures, but do keep your head up. That’s a densely-populated stretch of I-94.”
The work will also require some full closures.
“The southbound U.S. 131 ramp to eastbound I-94, that’ll be closed for a couple of weekends,” Schirripa said. “10 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday on June 9-12 and June 16-19.”
Elsewhere, bridge work on I-94 westbound over the Paw Paw River is slated for July completion, Schirripa said.
