BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — May was a difficult month for Kellogg distribution center workers across the country.
Distribution center closures and the hundreds of resulting layoffs are being linked directly to the Battle Creek cereal-maker’s decision to cease its direct store delivery network.
Job cuts are expected to include nearly 250 in Weston, Fla., and Sharonville, Ohio, roughly 230 in North Carolina, over 200 in Minnesota, nearly 200 in Kansas City, and a combined 400 across Houston and Fort Worth, Texas.
Detroit’s distribution center is also closing. That announcement was made earlier this year.
