JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A motorcycle crash in Barry County has now claimed a second life.
39-year-old Michael Charles of Battle Creek was killed when his bike struck a deer on Pifer Road east of Delton just before 7:00 Tuesday evening.
A female also riding on the bike was rushed to emergency surgery at a Kalamazoo Hospital, where she later died.
She has been identified as 19-year-old Kiley E. Wiegand, also of Battle Creek.
Neither wore a helmet.
Tests are being conducted to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved.
