KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A peculiar poetry show will take place Wednesday in Kalamazoo.
You may have heard of a dog-and-pony show before, but what about a dog-and-poetry show?
“We have some New York Times best-selling authors that are poets that will be reading their poetry, and its poetry about dogs,” Kalamazoo Humane Society Executive Director Aaron Winters said.
The event is called “Poets Unleashed.”
“It’s going to be a fundraiser, but really it’s just going to be a fun time,” Winters said. “If you have a well-mannered dog, put it on a leash and come on out.”
It’s set for 6:30 p.m. at the Meadow Run Dog Park on South 8th Street.
Donated copies of “To Unsnare Time’s Warp: Stories and Poems about Dogs” will be on sale during the event. Proceeds from the book sales will benefit the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
