KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety is looking for the gunman or gunmen involved in a shootout that killed one man and left a second man wounded.
Apparently, they have not identified a suspect.
Officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired in the backyard of a home in the 1300 block of North Burdick just before 5 p.m. and found 36-year-old Marlon Lamar Morgan suffering from a critical bullet wound. Lifesaving efforts were begun, but he was pronounced dead after arriving at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
About a half-hour later, a 26-year-old, who was shot in the foot, arrived at the emergency room at Bronson Methodist Hospital. It’s believed he had been shot during the same exchange.
Public safety officers taped off a full block of Burdick Street and canvassed Patterson Court, West Clay Street and North Rose Street, where a car window had been shattered.
