PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — National Police Week begins next week, and Tuesday night the Portage city council got a glimpse into one facet of police work.
Lt. Matt Wolfe demonstrated how the Department’s new Body cameras work, saying that many of the problems they anticipated about privacy issues, and missed recordings have just not materialized.
He says they have had no issues getting the Officers to use them and to remember to switch them on.
He says in fact they wouldn’t go out without them anymore, realizing the protection they provide the officers from accusations and false claims.
He played videos of simulated Police calls using the equipment to demonstrate the picture and sound quality. The little cameras shoot in HD.
