BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a suspicious fire that caused around $35,000 damage to the second floor of a house on Seivour Avenue in Battle Creek late Tuesday.
Firefighters were greeted with heavy smoke coming from second floor windows upon arrival before 9 p.m.
They believe the house was vacant.
It’s not known if anybody was inside the structure when the fire was ignited.
