OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s detectives have determined a 17-year-old girl fabricated a story about getting forced into a car and sexually assaulted in Oshtemo Township.
According to a press release, she told investigators the alleged incident happened after she was approached by a man in a vehicle while walking along Quail Run last Thursday afternoon.
The child’s family has apologized for causing concern.
A recommendation has been sent to the prosecutor to not seek charges against the child, Undersheriff Pali Matyas said.
