UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — More than 1500 dogs and cats now have new forever homes after they were adopted yesterday during the Bissell Empty the Shelters day in Michigan.
About a third of the 66 shelters that participated in the annual event were emptied, as most of the cost of the adoption was picked up for the brand new pet owners.
A total of 710 dogs and 802 cats were adopted on Saturday.
