KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A staff member at the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s office has been named “Crime Victim Advocate of the Year” in Michigan.
But then Stella Chivikas faced some daunting challenges, working with the families of Kalamazoo’s Mass Murder and the family of a WMU Engineering student who was run over by drunk driver Morgan Rowley.
Chivikas is a 20-year veteran of the prosecutor’s staff in Kalamazoo County.
She was awarded the honor during this week’s 29th Annual Crime Victim’s vigil at the State Capitol.
