CASS COUNTY (WKZO-AM/FM) — A Dowagiac woman with a list of reasons to avoid police has turned it into a list of charges she will face in court on Monday.
She fled from Cass County Sheriff’s deputies reportedly because the 27-year-old had no license, had been drinking, was carrying marijuana and already had a warrant issued for her arrest. The chase ended early Sunday morning when she crashed her vehicle on Johnson Street near Budlow in Dowagiac.
She jumped out and fled in an unknown direction in the dark. Cass County search dog Faust led deputies right to the spot near the crash scene where she was hiding in a thick underbrush.
She was taken to Lee Memorial for a medical evaluation and then booked into the County jail because of all the previously mentioned reasons.
They added fleeing and eluding and leaving the scene of an accident, possession, driving drunk and driving without a license to her previous charge.
Now, her car is wrecked too.
