KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A 22-year-old man is sitting in the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting arraignment on multiple auto theft charges after he stole three vehicles within an eight-hour period on Easter Sunday.
Kalamazoo Public Safety learned of the first and second theft while checking out a suspicious car that occupied the parking lot of a local hotel near Interstate 94 and Sprinkle Road. They determined that vehicle was stolen.
That led them to a second stolen car abandoned at Lake Street and Olmstead Road in Kalamazoo Township. It was reported stolen in the city.
A patrol spotted the suspect in a third stolen car at the corner of South Westnedge Avenue and Cork Street on Kalamazoo’s southern border around 4 p.m. He was arrested without incident.
