UNDATED (WKZO-AM/FM) — This is Michigan Severe Weather Awareness Week.
In any normal year, it would be timely. But this has not been a normal year. We have already seen tornadoes, devastating wind storms and flooding.
National Weather Service Meteorlogist Bill Marino said things have been unusual. His agency is blaming the weather on warm waters in the Gulf of Mexico that never dipped below 73 degrees this winter.
Marino said that puts more energy into Midwest storms.
NWS said the next line of potentially-stormy weather is forecast to blow through west Michigan midweek.
