KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — An Interstate 94 repaving project spanning from Sprinkle Road in Kalamazoo to 40th Street in Charleston Township is set to get underway Monday.
The work will link the recently-reconstructed interchanges with new asphalt on the eastbound side of the freeway. It will mirror work completed on the westbound side last year.
Michigan Department of Transportation spokesperson Nick Schirripa said the work will run through June 27.
“Six or seven weeks of that, and it’s just nighttime closures, so it’s not terribly invasive there,” Schirripa said.
It’s part of an overall $5.8 million MDOT investment.
