COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Sheriff’s deputies in Kalamazoo County say a man found unresponsive in Comstock Township early Friday is recovering after overdosing on heroin.
The man was found in the 6200 block of Francis Street around 4:45 a.m. He was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital after being resuscitated.
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Pali Matyas said Kalamazoo Public Safety also had to respond to an overdose Friday morning, which suggests there may be a bad batch of heroin in circulation.
The overdoses tend to occur in clusters when the drugs that are being sold are laced with something that makes them dangerous or more-potent than usual.
The case in Comstock Township remains under investigation. Those with additional information are urged to contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office at (269) 383-8748 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
