NEWBURG TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman who Cass County deputies say fled from a traffic accident with minor injuries had to be tracked down by a K-9 just before 7:00 Saturday evening after she got into an argument with others involved in the crash on Prang St.
She ran into a wooded area near by. The 43-year-old female driver from Elkhart, Indiana appeared to be intoxicated.
Cass County deputy K-9 Faust was brought to the scene to do a search for the woman and led his handler right to the spot where they found her lying on the ground.
The woman was escorted back to the crash scene and treated by paramedics.’She was then arrested for driving drunk, having an open container in the car and leaving the scene of an accident and booked in the Cass County Jail pending arraignment and a bond hearing.
