INGHAM COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — You may be seeing fewer stories about Dr.Larry Nassar now that an Ingham County Judge has slapped a gag order on anyone connected to the case and ordered the transcript of the preliminary hearing sealed.
The case has been featured on “60 Minutes” and in the national media because of its victims, the high profile U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team and because it has just about every element that a news story should have, and more.
It even has the Attorney General calling the defendant, “A Monster” at a news conference.
Just this week the victims were testifying at a congressional hearing.
Nassar faces federal charges of sexual abuse, state charges too, and about 80 former patients have joined a civil suit, charging the former MSU and Olympic Gynmastics Team doctor with practices and procedures they now claim were abuse.
The Defense made a motion for the Judge to order everyone to stop talking about the case because it might make it impossible for Nassar to get a fair trial.
The Judge agreed.
Nassar is being held in jail without bond.
