MASON TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal stabbing at a home in the 16000 block of State Line Road in Cass County.
They were dispatched to the location at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. The first-arriving trooper found a man holding the murder weapon standing in the driveway.
Troopers found the body of 59-year old Alan Craigo, the resident at the home, dead inside. He had been stabbed several times.
Investigators say it appears to have been an argument with his son which escalated quickly.
The Cass County Jail is holding 32-year-old Joseph Craigo of Elkhart, Ind., after he was charged with open murder and other counts and ordered held without bond. .
An autopsy is planned at the regional coroner’s office in Kalamazoo.
