GOBLES (WKZO AM/FM) — A 44-year-old Gobles man will likely face an assortment of charges today after a weekend stop that turned into a drug bust.
Van Buren County Deputies were on patrol in Gobles Saturday night when they recognized the driver in a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville as someone who had a suspended driver’s license.
He apparently also spotted the deputies because he quickly turned the car onto a side street, parked and hid in a home.
Later on, he was spotted walking down the street, stopped and confessed to driving on a suspended license.
A search of his clothing turned up marijuana, methamphetamine, a scale and packaging materials, brass knuckles and other drug-related items.
He was booked into the Van Buren County Jail for possession with intent to deliver.
