ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — An unusual story about a car-pedestrian collision in northern Allegan County.
State Police say the woman, 44-year-old Jennifer Counterman of Dorr was trying to rescue her dog, which had been struck by a previous vehicle, when she was also struck by a motorist in an SUV.
The driver tried to miss her but couldn’t react fast enough
It happened around 8:30 Wednesday night along a dark stretch of 144th Avenue near 34th Street in Salem Township.
Both the woman and her dog died from their injuries.
