UNDATED (WKZO-AM/FM) — Popular Science magazine has used climate projections to speculate about what will be the best and worst places to live in the U.S. at the turn of the next century and for the best, they picked the same place that most of us have already chosen-Michigan.
You can see the magizine’s video of the selection process here.
They project ahead to determine which parts of the country will be most adversely affected by Climate Change and they say parts of the country will be un-livable, either because it will be underwater, ravaged by wildfires or a desert.
Most of the rest of the U.S. in 2100 will be survivable but riskier because of stronger hurricanes, more devastating tornadoes, drought, wildfires and mosquitoes that carry really deadly viruses.
But they say the two Michigan Peninsulas, nestled here alongside the world’s largest bodies of fresh water, with a comfortable seasons and north of the worst tornado zones and pathogens, will be the least impacted by the negative effects of climate change.
So hang on to that property, your great grand relatives could be sitting on a goldmine.
The best part is we don’t have to wait for a safer climate.
Michigan already has milder winters, less powerful twisters, few earthquakes, no volcanoes and only a few wild fires mostly isolated to the north, Usually by the time a Hurricane pushes this far inland…its little more than a shower.
