BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — A woman is being held for questioning after she appeared at the Emergency Room at Bronson Battle Creek with a 4-year-old child who was in such poor condition that the medical staff felt compelled to notify the police.
The child was listed in critical condition and transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Kalamazoo.
Officers went to the woman’s home in the 200 block of E. Emmett St. with a representative from Child Protective Services and found three other children living in questionable living conditions.
They have all been placed them in alternative living arrangements for now.
