VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan State Police have released the names of the two men who drowned in Keeler Lake Saturday evening.
Rescue crews were able to retrieve 45-year-old Douglas McIntyre and 64-year-old Robert Novick from the water and resuscitation was begun, but it failed to revive either man.
McIntyre was a resident of nearby Decatur and Novick was visiting from Evergreen Park in Illinois.
The two men had apparently gone out to fish in a small boat, which capsized throwing them into the frigid water about 75 feet from shore. Neither was apparently able to swim to safety.
