KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The Trump economic rally is being felt in west Michigan, where industrial Economist Brian Long says local plants have seen a double-digit jump in new orders in February.
He says his monthly survey found a lot of optimism, given the prospect of fewer regulations and a possible tax cut coming from the Trump administration. Long said that we should see more improvements in the unemployment rate, and possibly even plant expansion.
But with auto sales continuing to soften and furniture manufacturers setting sales records, there is a sense by some that the economy is topping off.
The question remains whether there is a downward slope, a plateau or another hill over Trump’s bump in the economy.
