KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The lawyer for a Scotts woman charged with shooting her husband and making it look like a murder-suicide on Valentine’s Day says detectives got it wrong.
Attorney Randall Levine said Greg and Janel Boer had a volatile relationship and his death occurred just as she said it did, and not the way that investigators are claiming.
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Pali Matyas is defending the investigation.
Janel Boer was formally charged yesterday with open murder and gun charges and ordered held without bond in the Kalamazoo County Jail until a March 15 preliminary hearing.
The prosecutor and Levine will both get a chance to make their arguments to a judge at that hearing.
