KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — An independent gubernatorial candidate will be making stops in southwest Michigan this weekend.
Todd Schleiger is a business owner and has history in the trucking industry. He has stops scheduled in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek on Sunday.
“The two-party system is broken and we need somebody who’s actually going to listen to the people,” Schleiger said.
Schleiger also said his plans are big.
“The whole system is set up for the lobbyests and parties, and we need to change that here in Michigan,” Schleiger said. “We need to get healthcare reform, auto insurance is a big thing, and our roads in Michigan are deplorable and they’ve told us for decades they were going to fix them.”
He also said he wants to restructure the tax system, which would involve imposing a three percent flat tax on businesses.
